My husband and I love watching HGTV. Or favorite show on HGTV is called Property Visions. Every week we watch this real estate themed television show on our satellite TV provider,www.directstartv.com.
The people on this show are first time home buyers. A real estate agent takes the first time buyers around to see a few different houses. Almost every person that is on this show has very unrealistic expectations. They usually want a huge modern house. The problem is that they usually only have a small budget to work with. The realtor showing the people the houses usually gives them ideas on how they could fix up parts of the house inexpensively.
Another problem that many people on the show have is that they have no idea how much they can actually afford to spend on a house. Even if they do know how much they want their monthly payment to be, they often forget the fact that they still have to pay property taxes and home owners insurance on the house. Many of the people also don't understand if they want pay someone to remodel a house it will cost them a lot of money.
One of the best things about this show is that if the people do end up buying a house than HGTV usually fixes up one of the rooms for them
