Sickenly cold!

It is my first time to experience 35 below zero temperature, it is very cold outside that goes deep to my bones. My son is seven and half old now, he got two teeth and able to walk in the furniture and can stand alone. There are many infant that cannot do what he can do now as what his doctor said so. Sad news..

I watched local news early today and so sad that an elderly couple has been robbed by a man and the worst thing about it, he beat the husband real bad. My life has been so busy here! My son is very active and needs my attention all the time. What a wonderful day! Both me and my baby sleep good and woke up with smile in our face. Actually my baby woke up first, and he knew exactly how to wake me up. He pulled my hair and scream right to my ear! He is really smart and funny. At the age of 6 mos old, he crawled everywhere and trying to stand my himself. Its amazing how babies learn by themselves. I am quite amazed seeing him crawling without falling or anything. I must say that I am really enjoying taking care of my son.

How to Fight Spiritual Warfare

There are four things we need to do when we are battling spiritual warfare in our lives:

1. Acknowledge the adversary. Satan is real (1 Peter 5:8-9). When you’re being attacked, it’s proof that you’re a believer. The more you make an impact for God, the more the Devil is going to fight you. You never outgrow it; it just gets more intense.

If there were no Devil, why would God send his Son to fight what does not exist? The Bible says in 1 John 3:8, “The Son of God came to destroy these works of the Devil” (NLT).

2. Accept God-given authority. Most believers are very ignorant about the authority they have to use against the Devil. Matthew 28:18-19 says we have all authority in heaven and earth. Then Jesus says, “Therefore go and make disciples …” (NIV). He transfers the authority to you and me. He does that because he’s given us a specific mission (2 Corinthians 5:20).

3. Put on God’s armor. When Paul wrote about the whole armor of God (Ephesians 6:11-17), he was in prison chained to a Roman guard. Paul used the Roman centurion as a model for spiritual armor. Paul says, just as the Roman soldier is properly dressed to do battle, we also need to be dressed for battle.

For instance, I will often pray, “Lord, I put on the helmet of salvation that will protect me from the thoughts the Devil will try to give me. I don’t want to think the Devil’s thoughts. I don’t want to think my thoughts. I want to think your thoughts, so that that I may be a voice for you. I put on the belt of truth. Lord, I want to share the truth, not falsehood. I want to lead people into righteousness.”

4. Aim the artillery. The battlefield for spiritual warfare is primarily in your thought life, in your mind (2 Corinthians 10:4-5). Paul says the weapons God gives us to use demolish arguments – that’s the way people think; they pull down pretension – that’s the way people think.

We take every thought captive. In this battle for thoughts, we have four weapons: humility, faith, truth, and praise.

How to Overcome Discouragement

Discouragement is curable. Whenever I get discouraged, I head straight to Nehemiah. This great leader of ancient Israel understood there were four reasons for discouragement.

First, you get fatigued.

You simply get tired as the laborers did in Nehemiah 4:10. We’re human beings and we wear out. You cannot burn the candle at both ends. So if you’re discouraged, it may be you don’t have to change anything. You just need a vacation! Sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do is go to bed.

Second, you get frustrated.

Nehemiah says there was rubble all around, so much that it was getting in the way of rebuilding the wall. Do you have rubble in your life? Have you noticed that anytime you start doing something new, the trash starts piling up?


If you don’t clean it out periodically, it’s going to stop your progress. You can’t avoid it, so you need to learn to recognize it and dispose of it quickly so you don’t lose focus on your original intention.


What is the rubble in your life? I think rubble is the trivial things that waste your time and energy and prevent you from accomplishing what God has called you to do.


Third, you think you’ve failed.

Nehemiah’s people were unable to finish their task as quickly as originally planned and, as a result, their confidence collapsed. They were thinking, “We were stupid to think we could ever rebuild this wall.”


But you know what I do when I don’t reach a goal on time? I just set a new goal. I don’t give up. Everybody fails. Everybody does dumb things. So the issue is not that you failed – it’s how you respond to your failure.


Do you give in to self-pity? Do you start blaming other people? Do you start complaining that it’s impossible? Or, do you refocus on God’s intentions and start moving again?

Finally, when you give in to fear, you get discouraged.

Nehemiah 4 suggests the people most affected by fear are those who hang around negative people. If you’re going to control the negative thoughts in your life, you’ve got to get away from negative people as much as you can.

Maybe you’re discouraged because of fear. You’re dealing with fears like, “I can’t handle this. It’s too much responsibility.” Maybe it’s the fear that you don’t deserve it. It’s the fear of criticism. Fear will destroy your life if you let it. But you can choose to resist the discouragement. Say, “God help me get my eyes off the problem – off the circumstance – and keep my eyes on you.”

Beef Stew for lunch!

I was in the mood for beef stew today so I decided to cook some. I bought beef ribs yesterday so its perfect for my plan. It turns out really good, it was actually my won recipe, I just imagine how it will look likes like and I am proud of myself after tasting it, it turns out pretty good and yummy. What I did, I sliced the beef rids in small cubes and then put some green leaf like cabbage, Chinese cabbage, bokchoy, mushrooms, celery, white onions, spring onions and then jalapeno. chilly day!

We had freezing temperature today and cloudy. I went outside to check my one and only plants and get very upset, my flowers don’t have leaves already, the deer ate it all! We're tired..

We just got home from my dental schedule and we all worn out for todays agenda. After my 2 hours in the dentist clinic, we went to the mall and bought stuff for the baby. My husband bought him a new play yard for him to play with when everybody is busy. At night time he can sleep in his crib and he can play in his play yard during day time, its the only place where we know he is safe whatever happens. Life has been so busy here! Its quite chilly out here, I went outside to water my one and only flowers but didn't stay longer, I was planning to clean our front yard today but seems like those plan will remain as a "plan" hehehehehe. I am one of the women’s club member here in our place, they invited me last two months ago to join with them and I said yes right away for a change since I always stay at home and didn’t have much to do, at least by joining them I can have a little bit fun. Anyway, we have our meeting yesterday, we are discussing about our upcoming events for this year and one of that is our Halloween party which is too soon. Since its my first time to join in their club, I don’t have any Halloween costumes in my closet. busy!

I am so buys today, I clean the entire house! from our bedroom to our kitchen, living room, office and 2 rooms! wow, that is really tiring..i vacuum every corner of our house because i want to make sure everything is clean since our baby is crawling already. we bought outlet cover and drawer lock yesterday just in case he'll reach those delicate thing. it good to be ready all the time. we finally use his crib n ow, we cannot just put him in our bed after he fell the other day, that was really scary..

Bad Momma!

I feel so horrible when my baby fell on the floor. Right after I woke up, I went to the bathroom and so confident that my baby will be fine since he was in the middle of the bed. Before I finish peeing, I heard big bump from the floor and so scared seeing my baby falling from our bed. He was there looking at me and cried when I held him. I don't know what to do, i feel my body shaking and my hearbeat beating really fast! I am so scared and worried, i called my husband right away but not asnwer from his office work so i called my sister in-law and she came over to check my baby and thank God his doing ok, he doesn't have any lump still active. I hope and pray that he will be fine through out the day. His sleeping right now. I know for sure that my husband won't like to hear what happen, i hope and pray he will be fine and won't yell at me

Tiresome day!

We just got home from my inlaws place, we helped them packed things. they will move down south next week. they still have lots of things to pack and they have to do that before monday since the movers will be there and load in the truck. i wish they just have to stay where they are now, in that way we can visit them every week, we'll miss them for sure and so they are. anyway i just want to update my blog here before hopping in my bed..goodnight friends and may you have a good night slumber

We got home late last night because of my friend son's birthday. We went to their place which is 2 hours drive from where we live and spent almost 4 hours celebrating the birthday party. we had lots of fun and of course so full! i'm happy to see them after long time without seeing each other, her and me had the same month of delivery, she had a baby girl and i had a boy..my baby is lot bigger and heavier than her baby, but its normal though because girls usually that way. anway, we decided to stay at home today. i cook beef barbecue outside on the stick with vegetables on it and then make salad with watermelon hhmmm so yummy! my husband loves my cook, he said im his most favorite cook! hahahaha. of course because im his wife..we're done eating and both us are full as well the baby because i nurse him after i ate..his sleeping right now as well as his daddy..:-)

I receive a call last night from my close friend Love and invited me for his son tomorrow's birthday. I’m glad we are done with our teeth cleaning yesterday. Ugh! I really hate teeth cleaning especially the drilling and scraping! It feels so annoying..but anway I am happy of having a chance to maintain my teeth clean here unlike in the place where I live before. We don’t go to the dentist unless something is really bad happen in our teeth like swollen or rotten and take note, sometimes we went to a non license doctor to make it more cheaper which is of course “illegal” J . I am not done though with my teeth problem, I still have to back on Monday to fix my 2 cavities in both side of my tooth. Before I came here in US, I have 6 teeth filling in my front teeth to close the gap, unfortunately the dentist didn’t do a good job, the filling is too rough that makes my gums bleedL so they have to fix that too on Monday and it will be two hours! Hayyy life..

Last week my in-laws visited us here and brought their old car truck to give it to us. We are supposed to spend time with our in-laws today but because of the unexpected disaster, our plan change. The main pipe in our water system broke, my husband accidentally hit the pipe while breaking the woods using his axe. The water is flowing really hard like a shower and my husband tried to fix it but still water is coming out. Good thing, my sister in-law came in and called water restoration 911 and fixed the pipe. Now our drive way is so muddy and hopefully it will dry out soon because then we’re stuck having a muddy wheels in our car.

Busy Day!

Just got from the hospital oh boy it was really hot outside, good thing I wear sleeveless that helps my body too keep cool a little bit. I was hapoy with our check up results, my baby is doing pretty good. He weights 13.9 lbs and 26 inches long at the age of 2 months old. They checked my bottom too and everything went well. My baby is really tough, they poked him twice but he only cried a little bit. I am so thankful that God gave me such a healthy baby

Life has been so busy here! I have been taking care of my little boy for 24 hours but im loving it! its amazing how to grow up so quickl..I love my baby so dearly and of course my husband:-) its quite chilly today, i went outside to water my plants and its chilly out there! I'm happy that my plants outside started to produce beautiful flowers. I had roses and and tulips and hoping to plants more this year.Anyway, I need to get going now I still have to eat my breakfast real fast before my baby's mood change. I leave him in our bed and playing with himself, I just hope he won't cry and get tired.

I was surprised when hubby got home yesterday, he brought me some flowers which makes me really happy and special. Big Storm!

There is a story many years ago of an elementary teacher. Her name was Mrs. Thompson. She stood in front of her 5th grade class on the very first day of school, and told the children a lie. Like most teachers, she looked at her students and said that she loved them all the same. But that was impossible, because there in the front row, slumped in his seat, was a little boy named Teddy Stoddard. Mrs. Thompson had watched Teddy the year before and noticed that he didn't play well with the other children, that his clothes were messy and that he constantly needed a bath. And Teddy could be unpleasant. It got to the point where Mrs. Thompson would actually take delight in marking his papers with a broad red pen, making bold X's and then putting a big "F" at the top of his papers. At the school where Mrs. Thompson taught, she was required to review each child's past records and she put Teddy's off until last. However, when she reviewed his file, she was in for a surprise.
Teddy's first grade teacher wrote, "Teddy is a bright child with a ready laugh. He does his work neatly and has good manners...he is a joy to be around."
His second grade teacher wrote, "Teddy is an excellent student, well liked by his classmates, but he is troubled because his mother has a terminal illness and life at home must be a struggle."
His third grade teacher wrote, "His mother's death has been hard on him. He tries to do his best but his father doesn't show much interest and his home life will soon affect him if some steps aren't taken."
Teddy's fourth grade teacher wrote, "Teddy is withdrawn and doesn't show much interest in school. He doesn't have many friends and sometimes sleeps in class."

She felt even worse when her students brought her Christmas presents, wrapped in beautiful ribbons and bright paper, except for Teddy's. His present which was clumsily wrapped in the heavy, brown paper that he got from a grocery bag. Mrs. Thompson took pains to open it in the middle of the other presents. Some of the children started to laugh when she found a rhinestone bracelet with some of the stones missing, and a bottle that was one quarter full of perfume. Tips for today "top 6 causes of hair loss"

It is common for men to lose their hair with age, and sometimes this process begins as early as the teenage years. Some men just accept it, while others seek treatment. When women develop thinning hair or baldness, it is often a source of great concern and anxiety for them. Androgenetic alopecia is a common cause of hair loss, but there are many others to consider, too.

1. Normal variation. A hair's natural cycle is for it to grow for several years, then fall out and be replaced. This means that at any given time, some hairs are always in the process of falling out while others are starting to grow in. Thus, it is completely normal to notice hair coming out with combing, brushing, shampooing, toweling or otherwise rubbing the scalp.
Sometimes this natural hair loss may temporarily exceed new growth, which may cause undue alarm about possible baldness. One of the first questions I ask patients concerned about hair loss is whether their hair is truly getting thinner, or are they just noticing more normal shedding than usual. The latter situation may not require any treatment at all.
2. Hormonal abnormalities. A variety of hormonal problems are known to contribute to hair loss. Too much or too little thyroid hormone is a common cause of generalized thinning or loss of scalp hair. This is usually easily diagnosed with a simple blood test. Elevated testosterone tends to cause loss of scalp hair and promote growth of facial and body hair. High levels of insulin, often found in people with diabetes, can also cause hair loss. In women with polycystic ovary syndrome, there are elevations of both testosterone and insulin.
3. Scalp inflammation. Several inflammatory skin conditions, such as eczema, seborrhea, and psoriasis, cause patches of hair loss with red and scaly skin underneath. Fungal scalp infections (also called ringworm) and bacterial infections of the hair roots (folliculitis) can also cause similar problems. Patches of hair loss without underlying redness may be due to an autoimmune condition called alopecia areata.
4. Local trauma. Tight hairbands or cornrows can cause thinning simply by breaking off the hairs at their base. Some chemical hair treatments damage the follicles or the hair itself. Insects that attack the hair (like lice or scabies) can cause hair loss either by directly breaking the hair or by causing the person to scratch, which in turn damages the hair. Trichotillomania is a psychological condition in which people compulsively pull out or twirl their hair around a finger, sometimes without even realizing they are doing it, resulting in areas of broken-off hairs.
5. Medications. Several medications can contribute to hair loss. Steroids and chemotherapy are among the most common culprits. Some diuretics (like sprinolactone) cause thinning of the hair by increasing levels of testosterone. If your hair loss seems to correspond to when you started a new medicine (or increased the dose), it's worth checking with your doctor about a possible connection.
6. Psychologic factors. Stress, anxiety, and depression are surprisingly common causes of thinning scalp hair, and can be especially difficult to recognize and treat. Many people don't realize how much stress or anxiety they are actually experiencing, and so will tend to minimize their level of stress when considering possible causes of hair loss. The anxiety is then compounded by the hair loss itself, so the problem becomes even worse. Some people develop an escalating cycle of anxiety, worsening thinning of the hair, and increasing worry about hair loss.
Once you have noticed that you are losing your hair, the first step is to get a medical evaluation to determine the cause. Either your primary care physician (family practitioner, internist, pediatrician, or gynecologist) or a dermatologist is a good place to start. Treatment can then be directed to any of the above underlying causes that are present.
If such treatment is not sufficient, or if no identifiable cause can be identified, there are currently two medications that you might consider. Minoxidil (Rogaine®) is a topical treatment available over the counter. Its exact mechanism of action is not clearly understood but it can be safely used by both men and women. Finasteride (Propecia®), an oral medicine available only by prescription, works by preventing testosterone from transforming into its most active form, thereby reducing one of the major factors in male pattern baldness. Finasteride is not approved for use by women or children.
Both minoxidil and finasteride seem to be better at maintaining one's current hair and reducing future loss than they are at regrowing new hair, but these meds may produce some new hair. Typically, these medications need to be used for 3 to 6 months before much benefit is seen, and, unfortunately, any improvement in hair growth will only last as long as the medicine is continued. If it is stopped, the hair loss tends to recur.
Many cosmetic approaches are also available. Wigs, hair transplants, hair weaves, and similar treatments can all hide an embarrassing or frustrating problem. If you're not too fixated on growing your own natural hair, these can be easier and sometimes even less expensive in the long run than chronic use of medications.
